RULES
Uniform Requirements
Everything in pictures. AFBJJ follows the IBJJF uniform standards for gi and no-gi — athletes are inspected before stepping on the mats.
Manufacturers and academies: follow the official uniform guideline for approved patch placement, measurements and fabric specifications.

The gi-checker tool
Inspectors use the official gi-checker to verify lapel thickness, collar width, sleeve opening and sleeve length. Watch how it is used so you know exactly what happens at the inspection table.
Uniform inspection
Uniforms are inspected before an athlete competes. Any gi or no-gi attire that fails inspection must be replaced before the athlete is permitted on the mats — bring a spare uniform to every championship.
